Sheet Metal Fabrication

Sheet Metal Fabrication Services

Sheet metal is one of the most common types of material stock and can be used for a variety of applications.
Our fabrication shops in China can shape your sheet metal into many different forms through a variety of processes. Our fabrication services include:
Stamping,
Laser cutting,
Bending,
Welding.
There are many different types of sheet metal available, including steel, aluminum, brass, and others. Sheet metal gives product designers significant flexibility in how they design their products.

What is Stamping?

Stamping is a process used to shape flat sheet metal by piercing, punching, embossing, and performing other operations with a stamping press.
It is a fast and cost-effective way to produce high volumes of metal parts. And it allows your manufacturer to produce complex shapes while maintaining consistently high quality.
Some simple metal parts can be stamped with a single stroke, while more complex parts may need to go through multiple stages. The sheet moves quickly from one section of the progressive stamping press to the next, receiving different operations as it moves.
Progressive stamping can be used to create metal parts with more complex geometries with fast turnaround, high repeatability, and low labor costs. However, stamping, in general, requires upfront toolings and it is not ideal for short-run production.

Metal Stamping Service Capabilities

Savant offers a range of sheet metal stamping services that include:
Fourslide Stamping
In-Die Tapping
Electronic Tool and Press Monitoring
Plastic Overmolding
Stamping is performed on presses with a capacity between 5 to 150 tons and at tolerances down to 0.25mm.
Processes can be performed on various materials, both ferrous (steel, carbon steel, etc.) and non-ferrous (aluminum, copper, etc.).
If you would like to learn more about our services or would like input on your stamped metal product design, reach out to us and we will be happy to discuss your project.

What is Laser Cutting?

Laser cutting is an industrial process used to cut sheet metal with a powerful, focused laser beam. Guided by a CAD file, the laser cutter glides over the surface of the sheet metal and melts, burns, or vaporizes away material to cut the desired patterns into it.
There are several different types of laser cutters, including:
CO2,
Nd (neodymium), and
Nd:YAG (neodymium yttrium-aluminum-garnet).
CO2 lasers are used for cutting, boring, and engraving. Nd lasers are used for high-energy, low repetition boring. Nd: YAG lasers are used for very high power boring and engraving. All three types can be used for welding.
Laser cutting offers high precision, accuracy, and speed. It can be more cost-effective than machining in some situations and offers narrow kerf widths.

Laser Cutting Capabilities

Working with Savant on your laser cutting project allows you to create custom shapes with complex geometries.
We offer:
2D and 3D 5-Axis Laser Cutting
Parts up to 60″ x 120″
Tolerances to +/- 0.005″, up to +/- 0.001″ for some parts and materials
To solicit feedback on the manufacturability of your design or to request more information about our laser cutting services, reach out to us and we will discuss your project with you.

What is Sheet Metal Bending?

Bending is one of the most common fabrication processes for sheet metal and it is used to produce V-shapes, U-shapes, and channel shapes along a straight axis.
Some of the most common pieces of equipment used for bending are brake presses and box-and-pan brakes. Other types of specialized machine presses can be used as well.
This equipment can be used for different types of bending techniques, including air bending, bottoming, and coining, among others. Each technique has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Many manufacturers use bending in the production of automotive or aircraft panels, electrical enclosures, storage units, cabinets, and many other types of products.
Bending is cost-effective when producing low to medium quantities and produces lightweight parts with good mechanical properties.

Sheet Metal Bending Services We Offer

We offer high-quality bending services to companies that require these operations, including:
Beam Cambering
Structural Steel Bending
Companies in many industries can take advantage of these options, including:
Structural Steel Fabricators
Public Works Contractors
Equipment Manufacturers
Shipbuilders
And Others

What is Welding?

Welding is a process used to join separate pieces of materials together, including sheets of steel, aluminum, and other metals.
A welder uses different types of welding techniques such as arc welding, friction welding, electron beam welding, and others. All of these use high heat to melt separate pieces together and they are then allowed to cool, which leads to fusion.
Some types of material are unweldable and require additional material, called “filler” or “consumable,” to join them together.
Pieces can be joined together in different configurations, such as butt joint, T joint, corner joint, and other configurations.
Welding is one of the most common types of fabrication operations for sheet metal.

Welding Services We Offer

In addition to our sheet metal, metal tube, and metal wire fabrication services, we are able to offer welding for:
Aluminum
Stainless Steel
Carbon Steel
Whether for short-run or long-run production, we can provide resistance (spot) welding services you need to complete your project.
